David Bushman Obituary

DAVID LYLE BUSHMAN, 96 MILLEDGEVILLE - David Lyle Bushman, age 96, of Milledgeville, IL, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Parkview Home in Freeport. David was born June 22, 1916 in Milledgeville, Illinois to Nelson and Clara (Hubbard) Bushman. He was a 1935 graduate of Milledgeville High School and attended the University of Illinois. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1941 to 1945. David Married Harriet Beattie on February 11, 1943 in LaSalle, IL. David was a member of the Milledgeville Methodist Church, the Freeport YWCA, the Stockton Heritage League, and a 50 year member of the Milledgeville Masonic Lodge. He was a supervisor at Kraft Foods in Milledgeville for 40 years, retiring in 1985. David is survived by his wife of 70 years, Harriet Beattie Bushman; brother, Lynford of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell, George, Salem, Howard and Henry; sisters, Leila Baughman and Dorothy Rick. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton, IL. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Parkview Home. A memorial has been established to the Milledgeville United Methodist Church and the Milledgeville Veterans Memorial. Sorry to hear of David's passing. I had lost track of you, but you recall when I mowed your mother's lawn at her house, back in the 60's. I will send a note.
