Connie Fryrear Obituary

Connie Ann Fryrear

January 9, 1943 - July 10, 2025

We celebrate the remarkable life of Connie Ann Fryrear, age 82, who left our side on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, in Edmonds, Washington, following a sudden illness. Connie was born to James and Georgia Wall on January 9, 1943, in Aurora, Nebraska.

She attended Waverly High School where she was extensively involved in extracurriculars, including Chorus, the Hi-Spot newspaper, Quill and Scroll, Student Council, theatre, and much more. In addition to being selected FFA Sweetheart, Connie lettered in music, dramatics, scholastics, and journalism. She went on to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln for a teaching degree and was a member of the Cornhusker Marching Band.

Connie married Emmett "Rod" Fryrear on August 21, 1965, and the couple welcomed two children, Lance and Jasmine. She spent much of her life in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she taught English, sponsored the drama and speech team, and strategically supported projects within UNL's Facility Management office. As a mother, Connie was exceptionally generous, thoughtful beyond your imagination, and sincerely loved.

Her life was characterized by immense adventure, passion projects, and unwavering support for her granddaughter, Brianna Faith. She enjoyed traveling with her family, playing penny slots with Rod, coaching sports from her living room, keeping up her flower gardens, and strolling the Saturday market and shops in Edmonds. Of course, she was admired by her grand-dogs Doodle, Pixie, Manny, Toulouse, and Murray.

Connie shared her incredible talents with us through her many crochet, needle punch, quilting, and paper crafting projects. If Connie was around, creativity was in the air, and she spent countless hours teaching Jasmine and Brianna those skills. When she laid the crochet hooks down, you could find her looking forward to family dinner with Lance & Trista next door.

Connie is survived by her husband Rod Fryrear of Edmonds, son Lance (Trista) of Edmonds, daughter Jasmine (Darren) of Papillion, NE, and granddaughter Brianna (Nicholas) of Omaha, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Georgia Wall.

The family will hold a private celebration of life in Edmonds, Washington at a later date, and a memorial bench will be dedicated in Connie's honor at the Edmonds market. Condolences may be sent to the family at 921 Spruce St, Edmonds, WA 98020; we are sincerely grateful for the outpouring of love and support across the country.

So sad to hear of the passing of Connie. We really enjoyed her company while she was in Lincoln. She had a great sense of humor and was always good in group situations. And I know how much she loved her grand-dogs. God's blessings to the family in this time of sorrow.

She was a gracious, fun and creative wife, mother and grandmother. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing as I know how difficult this is for Jasmine and Brianna. I saw first hand the love those three shared together and the many memories they now have in their heart to hold on to.
