Dear Marian and Family,

I worked at Christensen's for 15 years from 1963-1978 so have many memories of Joe and the family. To share a few with you...one was a regular trip to the Corn Popper when we were at 1521 O St. to get Joe's beloved popcorn. He always got the "fluffy ones" as he put it as it was his dollar--these were the top layer, then the rest he shared. We also had a regular pilgrimage each year over to Pershing to enjoy pancakes at the Kiwanis Pancake Feed. Least favored times were tax time which was thought about seriously about April 12 using the old manual adding machine which was his favorite. It ranked right up there with the linotypes! Then when there was a panic in the bindery, we would walk around the table gathering all the sections of Statutes...Marian, JoAnn, and Brian will remember this as we put lots of miles on our feet. The legislative session provided lots of work in those days before the numerous Law Reviews came about. Joe was so remarkable. Who else would have thought tarring the roof at 1521 O St. to pouring the parking lot concrete was just work to be done so he'd do it was a good idea? We are all so fortunate to have known him. My thoughts and sympathy to all of you. Rita Rohn

Dear Marian & Family, We are so very sorry to hear of your loss. Joe was certainly a person that was liked and admired by all that knew him. My father,Alvin Reed, always spoke so highly of him, he was a great friend. Your presence at the Airstream rallies has certainly been missed the last few years. I am so sorry that we will be unable to attend the service. John has had several falls recently and is not able to get around very well at all. You will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers. Love, John & Doris Knerr

I worked at Christensen's Printing during the 70s. Joe was a great boss. I know he will be missed by the family, the staff, the community, and the clients. We want to pass on our condolences to Brian and the rest of the family.

Hi Marian and Family,

We have enjoyed knowing Marian and Joe. Joe always had a twinkle in his eye, and a witty remark for everything. The devoted love between them was warming and a joy to see.

Our love and prayers to you and the best of God's blessings.

Dear Marian and family. Papa Joe will be missed. I don't remember how we came about nicknaming Joe, "Papa Joe" ... but we did. My fondest memory of Joe is when I worked overtime, sitting at the VDT screen in the little operators room, he stick his head in the door and say "faster girls, faster", encouraging us to make those corrections faster! Just a little memory of Joe... I hope it brings a smile to your face.

I worked at Joe Christensen, Inc. for about 18 months a few years ago. I met Joe there. I admire him for the business he built. Christensen is a very family oriented place and it was a pleasure to work there. I am so saddened by his death. My sympathy goes out to his family.
