Kobie Jackson Obituary

Kobie Edmund Jackson 3 1/2, Lincoln, died Thursday (07/24/08). Born December 23rd, 2004, Kobie was a special Christmas gift to all. In his short time, he enjoyed playing with sticks, his "Ducktape" sword, trucks and cars, kitties (we will always remember his unique kitty sound), and playing ball. He loved going on walks pushing Rylee (baby boo) in her car with Halie and Fayth. Fayth and Kobie would always play with Fayth's horses and jumping on the trampoline. Knowing he was not supposed to, he laughed while making circles in the grass on his tractor. Scooby Doo was his all-time favorite, especially watching movies in his pajamas. He always followed in grandpa's (Pa-Po) footsteps, loving trains (especially at the Zoo) and always wanting to be his special big helper, even going to get ice cream and popcorn from Topper Popper together. Now, Kobie is a twinkling star in heaven with his dad.
Survived by: Christie (Spier) Jackson; sissy, Fayth Jackson, Lincoln; grandparents, Dell and Judy Spier; David and Sherry Jackson; and Katie (Bruner) Jackson, all of Lincoln; great-grandma, Anne Scharf, Lincoln; Lewis and Arylis Torrey, Kearney; uncles and aunts, Cory and Heather Wilson; Tyler and Audrey Jackson; Mark and Nicki VanHook, all of Lincoln; cousins, Halie and Rylee (baby boo) Wilson; Britton VanHook; Cooper Jackson; and a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends including special friend, Ed Johnson and son, Logan. Preceded in death by his father, Jon.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday (07/29/08), Capital City Christian Church, 7800 Holdrege St. with The Rev. Bill Thornton officiating. Visitation: family will greet friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday (07/28/08) at the funeral home, 4300 "O" St., Lincoln. Not sure what to say?

I would like to send my condolence to the Jackson family. The death of a loved one can bring sadness and pain. But will this situation ever change? Rev.21:3;4 helps to see that there will come to be a time sickness mourning, death will be no more.

I am truly sorry for you loss, and I do know what you are going through. I lost my 3-year-old son and one of my twin 3-month-old daughters in a house fire almost 3 years ago. There is nothing that I can say to make your pain go away...it never will. But one thing that has helped me is cherishing all of the memories that I have...those can never be taken away. One thing that my daughter tells me (almost on a daily basis) is that heaven is a wonderful place. My grandpa passed away last December from cancer, and the first thing my daughter said (she is now 3 years old) is "Papa will never be sick again. He will always smile and be happy." When she says this, I know she's right. Heaven is a wonderful place. While I would much rather have my children here with me, I know that they will never experience pain again, or hurt, and I know that my family has 2 beautiful angels looking down on us all the time. I will pray for you and your daughter every day. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you.

Christie – Fayth,
I know in a time like this we turn to god and ask “why”. How could he take such a young child away from his mother and family? I lost my nephew 12 years ago yesterday and he was 21 and our family asked the same question, “why”. I don’t even know what to say to you and your family after having suffered the loss of Jon and now Kobie. My sister said that in the following days after loosing her son that a friend told her that heaven needs the love, light, and laughter of children as we do here on earth. That has stuck with her from that day forward. I know that it seems hard now and that you feel that you can’t go on, but please remember one thing, Jon and Kobie are up there watching over you and Fayth and now Jon is able to spend some time with Kobie. Jon will take care of him now. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
