Leonard Bokelman Obituary

Leonard A. Bokelman 75, Lincoln, died Saturday (7/4/09) in Chadron. He was born April 7, 1934 at Garrison, Neb. He graduated from Concordia High School - Seward in 1952. He worked on the family farm at Ulysses. In 1957 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Babenhausen Germany until 1959. He married Katherine Janssen June 12, 1960. He worked as a furniture salesman for Montgomery Ward in Columbus, then Lincoln for 45 years.
Survivors: son, Dana Bokelman and grandson, Jacob, Crawford; daughter, Kala Bokelman, Washington D.C.; sisters, Elinor Wolff, Lincoln; Esther and husband, Stan Depue, Calif.; Lola and husband, Howard Leggett, Calif.; brothers, William & wife, Roseanne, Texas; Norman, Lincoln; Max and wife, Edith, Calif.; Herman and wife, Diane, Indiana; sister-in-law, Christine Boxerman, Iowa; Preceded in death by mother, Marie Poppe; father, William H. Bokelman; brother, Kenneth; sister-in-law, Dianna Bokelman; brother-in-law, Rev. Fred J. Wolff.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday (7/10/09) at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Rising City. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Kracl Funeral Chapel, David City, is in charge of arrangements.
