Loraine and family,
My thoughts and prayers were with you in these past difficult days, and I was so disappointed I could not make it to share this time with you. You both have always had a special place in my heart and have had such a testimony to everyone in our family. I look forward to seeing you some day when we are praising God and feeling better than we've ever felt before. Your lives have been a ministry to me and all those that knew you. THANK YOU!!
In His love,
Fred & Carolyn Potts

Our Love and Sympathy to you Loraine, and also the family. We will never forget when we first met you two, the Bible studies in your home, and you Loraine, my first prayer partner. You and Vint will always hold a special place in our hearts. He will be missed by many. Gods Blessings and comfort in the days ahead.

Our family will miss Vint, especially Jenna. While we all will miss his cheerful smile and warm hugs he touched a special place with Jenna reserved only for a Grandfather. He blessed us many times with words of wisdom and advice that we will always treasure, and that smile... that we will never forget.

Vint and Loraine took me under their wing when I was just a neighbor kid of theirs who walked to their church. Countless Sundays I would sit in the pew with them during church and many, many Sundays they would invite me out to lunch with them. The two of them began my journey as a Christian and I've never forgotten that.
Loraine...you are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so very thankful we were able to reconnect this year and that I was able to thank Vint in my letter for being such a positive Christian role model to me. He will be missed here on Earth...reading the other entries in this guest book shows how many lives he touched. What a glorius God we have, that by grace all that believe in him shall never perish but have eternal life. Hold tight to your faith and knowledge that you will be reunited with Vint in eternity!! God's blessings to you and your family.
In Christ,
Show those pearly whites! October 26, 2007

I can't tell you how much I am going to miss Vince. I don't think I ever remember a time where Vince didn't have a smile. Even towards the end when you know he wasn't feeling too well. You could always count on a smile, hug, and an encouraging word from him. He had a smile like he was always up to something, and usually he was. He loved to laugh and joke around, but he was very serious when it came down to people needing to know the Lord. I was blessed to have him in my bible study for a while and his knowledge of the bible, love of Jesus Christ, and his genuine concern for others and what they were going through never ceased to amaze me. When I asked him to pray for my sister going through cancer he also prayed for my mom, because he knew what it was like to see your child go through that having lost a son to cancer. He was such a wealth of information and related to so many people young and old alike. I wish I had more of a chance to get to know him. Heaven is rejoicing as is Vince, but for those of us left here there is a great void created by his absence.
My heart and prayers are with the whole Metzger family. You all are a great bunch of people May God bless you and give you strength during the days and years to come.

Mrs. Metzger, Marcene and Family,
I was saddened by the news of Vinton's passing. Your family has a special place in my heart and I am ever so greatful for the positive influence you had on my early years in Camp Fire. My heart goes out to all of you during this time. My family and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. May God continue to shine his light upon you all and keep you safe.

Dearest Loraine and family, our hearts are hurting today because we will not get to talk to Vint as we did everyday just to keep in touch or talk about God's love or some Bible verse that Jim wanted to share. We will be looking forward to seeing him at the Eastern Gate. The trips that we took together were so special! We laughed and ate barbeque and Mexican food every chance we got. We will never forget!! Thanks for the memories. We Love you , FOJO and Mary

Lorainne you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss our Sunday morning hugs and smiles from Vin, but know he is busy passing them out in Heaven. Vin was like an adopted Grandpa to Ryan and are so thankful the kindness you both have showed all of us, as newcomers to the church.

We will miss Vint walking by our house in the mornings and often times stopping by as he cared so much. Vint, you are welcome at our mansion in Heaven any time!
We know you are reaping a harvest of smiles and hugs as you planted so many of them with your time on this earth. We are so thankful that you were a part of our lives and look forward to seeing you again someday and next time - walking streets of gold.

Loraine,
You and the entire Metzger family are in our prayers. Vint was a special man to us. He played a significant role in leading Todd, or “Big Guy” as Vint used to call him, to Christ. His smile and charm warmed a room. Although his physical presence will be missed on earth, the seeds he has planted will flourish for eternity.
In His Grip,
Todd & Karen Case

Loraine and family:
You have been in our hearts and prayers since we first heard of Vint's illness.
It was so nice to see you and Vint in October at KFC. Vint was his ol' jovial self. I enjoyed his humor and infectious smile. No matter how long between our last meeting, you both are always so friendly and welcoming. We love you guys! I'll always remember Vint's final salutations as we would part;"God Bless!"
Thank God for his gift of etenral life. We sorrow but not as those who have no hope. With our love and deepest sympathies!

Vint was my "go to guy" before going on stage at many of our Christmas programs at Capitol City. There was something about him that made me need to connect with him before each show. His smiles of encouragement backstage made me feel more confident going on stage to tell about Jesus' great love for us. Now he is watching us, encouraging from above with Christ. God bless you and thanks for helping me want to be the best I could be. You will be sorely missed, never forgotten, and hopefully often imitated.

Metzger family,
I hear angels singing
I know you all will miss him for a while,BUT, You will see him,His faith was as real as I have seen. Not just a talker but as one who let actions speak loud and clear. He truly motivated me , every time I saw and spoke to him. I am sure that I feel like God in that , He Made Me Smile.

Dear Vince's Family, Your husband, father, grandpa was a great man. Gerry and I first met him in the Max Roper Park. (friends from all walks of life!) Before we became acquainted, we encountered him walking in the opposite direction. As he passed us he would sing out, "God bless your day!" We referred to him as 'the preacher.' One day we were walking in the same direction and got to know him and found out he wasn't a preacher! We always had a good laugh about that. We just had the best park friendship and walked around the park together many early mornings. We solved quite a few of the world's problems, shared our faith, talked about our families and our dogs. Vince went and got his car and brought Gerry home one day when Gerry was having heart problems and couldn't make it up the hill.
I just want to extend our sympathy and know how much you'll miss Vince. We know where he is! Praise the Lord! You are in our prayers for God's special comfort!

I have never met a person that exuded more energy or joy than Vince. The only fitting thing to say is "The world would be a much, much better place if there were more people like him." To which I would add, if there were more people like Vince, we would all be going to Heaven with a big grin on our face and the praise of Jesus Christ on our lips.

Aunt Loraine and all the Metzger family... I know I speak for a LOT of folks when I say how much Vint will be missed. I have such great memories of both Uncle "V" and Aunt Loraine from when I was a child. I love you both very much and will miss his laugh (among other things). Uncle V - say "hi" to my dad for me, I know you'll have lots of laughs again with "Dingy."
