Lena Bray Obituary

RACINE - Lena Mai (nee: Barker) Bray was called to Eternal Rest on Thursday, July 9 , 2009. Lena was born March 18, 1913, in Clarksville, Tenn. to the late Bobary and Lena (nee: Roach) Barker. Lena relocated to Evansville, Ind. and Cleveland, Ohio prior to residing in Racine. On May 15, 1945, she married Sherman Yarbor Sr., who preceded her in death. On July 8, 1977, she married George Bray, who also preceded her in death. Lena graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, Tenn. Lena loved God and was a faithful member of the United Church of God in Christ until her health began to fail. She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Myrtle L. Harrell; one foster son, Donald McIntyre; one foster daughter, Pearl McIntyre; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, four brothers and five sisters preceded her in death. Her Homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Greater Grace Temple COGIC, 522 North Memorial Drive, Racine, with Pastor Lewis L. Doss Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at West Lawn Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Thursday, July 16, 2009, from 4 until 7 p.m. at United COGIC, 2849 - 92nd Street, Sturtevant. Thanks to the Cardiac Department, Second Floor Medical, and all the nurses and doctors.
