Margaret Galligan-Alberg Obituary

OSHKOSH - Margaret Ann Galligan-Alberg born to eternal life on Saturday, August 9, 2008. Born to life June 13, 1930, in New London. Daughter of the late Arthur Roberts and the late Rose Blanche Pratt Roberts. Margaret and Eldon owned and Operated three Standard Oil service stations in the Racine area for over 20 years. They moved to Antigo where Margaret served at Langlade County Memorial Hospital for 16 years and seven as the head cook. She was the author of a monthly column in the NMB monthly magazine called "Cook's Corner". She was president and treasurer of the Antigo Branch #27 of the National Mutual Benefit Fraternal organization. After moving to Oshkosh she worked with her eldest son in his business endeavors at Fox Valley Heat Treat and also worked as an office assistant for Lakeview Memorial Park. She was a caring individual who always strived for perfection in all that she set out to do. Also a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. Her recipe for life was this: "My first recipe is always for a happy family. For ingredients you need caring, concerned parents, one or more loving children, two or more listening ears. Add walks together and lots of hugs and kisses, problems discussed over warm cookies and a nice cold glass of milk. It works when added with love of God and country, and respect for each other." Beloved wife of the late Eldon L. 'Al' Galligan. Beloved wife of George Alberg. Dear mother of Michael (Marcia) Galligan, Patrick (Linda) Galligan, Kevin (Linda) Galligan, Susan Galligan, Daniel (Rhonda) Galligan, Kathleen (Butch) Miller and Marlinda (Randy) Sisk. August 12, 2008

Margaret was a loving person. I have some great memories of the times spent at the house on Washington Ave. It was a place I first saw color TV!!!! Also, the house on Eagle Lake.

My parents were very good friends with Maggie and Al. Our families enjoyed may holidays together.

Margaret introduced me to Artex paints. I sill have some of the things I made because of those parties.

My condolances to the entire family for your loss. Although time has put a large chism between us, the memories will last forever.

Mary Brook, daughter of Ralph and Nona Wiseley.
