Cecilia Clementi Obituary

Clementi, Cecilia Age 85, of Goleta,Ca., passed away May 31, 2015 after numerous health complications. Born Dec. 9, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI., she was one of ten children of Joseph and Hildegard Weis. She graduated from Messmer High and attended Alverno College. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She loved music and listening to her late husband Steve's barbershop quartet. She also loved to sing in the St. Mark's choir. Cecilia was a devout member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Isla Vista. A line from the Prayer of St. Francis best sums up our mother, "grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console." In our eyes she was a saint. She was proceeded in death by her husband Steve and her daughter Mary. She is survived by sons: Mark (Jill), Paul, Frank (Vanessa), John (Elaine), Steve, Peter, and daughter Barbara. She also leaves sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brothers Frank, Joe (Donna), Roger (Rita), and Mike (Marryann). Sisters Betty (Walley) and Maryann (Donald); all of WI. As well as many nephews, nieces, and numerous friends. Goodbye Mom, goodbye Grandma, goodbye dearest friend. You have meant so much to so many. A memorial mass will be held Monday June 8 at 10 AM at St. Mark's Church in Isla Vista. Welch-Ryce-Haider is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations payable to Catholic charities.

A Marquette wrestler here to confirm that Cecilia & Steve put on a festa italiana that was unrivaled in our memories. Even though I was already one of the big fat wrestlers on the team - I still left just a little fatter than when I arrived. Thanks you for reaching out to us wayward college kids & making us feel warm & welcome at your table - may you already be savoring your festa in heaven! dj

My sincere condolences to the entire family. I fondly remember the end of year wrestling celebrations with great food. However, more than the food I remember the "joyous noise" of conversation and sharing of stories. Your family was so warm and welcoming. Your parents leave behind a great legacy of children, grandkids and more to carry on their generous spirit. May you find peace at this difficult time and may your mom rest in the eternal peace that she so richly deserves. My prayers and good thoughts are with your family.

Muncher, so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. DJ passed this link along and I'm so glad he did. My mom is 82 and I can't imagine facing her end of life. Even though this day comes for all of us and a person like your mom will most certainly be embraces by God's loving hands, we sure do miss our mom's loving hands around us. Eternal peace to Cecilia and God's comfort to you and your family. Ali Ben

When we were hungry - you fed us - so many of us hungry wrestlers from Marquette University. After an entire season of dieting, we probably ate enough spaghetti to cause a county-wide shortage. You treated us all like family just a few more brothers at the dining room table. Thank you for your kindness and for your love during the famous "Clementi Days".

Mom, what can I say, you are the single most important person in my life. You have always been there for me, always cared for me, always loved me unconditionally, and my love for you is eternal. I was going through your things and I found your " Prayer To St. Anthony for Peace of Mind " I could see it had been read many times. That did not surprise me with you and Dad having raised 8 kids of your own and two grand kids. I read it and it made me feel better. Your faith was such a big part of your life and I pray that myself and all my brothers and sisters continue to receive the power of your faith. May God grant you who have done so much for so many ever lasting peace, along with Dad and Mary. I love you all so much. Good bye Mom.

Good by my friend. We are all richer by knowing you. We had many conversations at bunco on your family and mine. You endured much more then most of us ever will.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Ceil's loving family. There are few losses than compare with that of a loving, devoted mother.

I knew Ceil only slightly, having worked at Delco near her dear husband, Steve. He always spoke lovingly of his precious wife. These two were meant for each other, and it was through the grace of God that they found each other. Now, they are together again, and you, their children, can rejoice in having been blessed to have such a great couple as your parents.
