Douglas K. Behrens

Behrens, Douglas K. Passed away peacefully at age 73 on March 12, 2014, surrounded by his family. Doug will be missed by his wife Patti (nee Reynolds), mother Marion, children Brad, Tracy (Doug) Marconnet, sister Cheri Scharbach, grandson Ben Noeske, in-laws, nieces, nephews, former wife Pam MacArthur, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer. Doug spent most of this life in Wauwatosa, where he graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1959 and was a member of the all-state swim team. He earned his business degree from UW-Whitewater, and was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. Doug also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. After beginning his career at Perlick Corporation, most of Doug's working years were spent at A.A.Anderson Company, where he eventually became owner and led a team of exceptional employees. Growing up, Doug enjoyed his summers at Pleasant Lake in East Troy, and then retired to the lake later in life, where he was frequently found volunteering his time, canoeing around the lake, or carving in his workshop. Throughout his life Doug was a collector of friends. Whether with neighbors, employees or someone he just met, Doug's grace, kindness and integrity always shined through. Thank you to all of the angels who graced our lives in the last year, including the medical teams at Elmbrook, Froedtert, and ProHealth Hospice. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30 from 2 PM until the time of Memorial Service at 4 PM, a reception will follow. Memorials in Doug's name may be made to The Froedtert Hospital Foundation or the Blood Center of Wisconsin. As Doug believed: "Life is what you make of it. Breathe in every moment... and hold it tight."
