To the Perkins family,
I had the opportunity to be recruited by Perk to play for the Warhawks,(65-68) and teamed with many other great teammates. All of us learned so much from Perk by the way he handled young guys as individuals and as part of a team. Perk started the phrase, "Warhawk Family", and it has been present ever since through coaches Berezowitz and Leipold, two other members of the Warhawk Family. The stadium was Perk's idea and the motto, "Open the Gate by 68" came true in 70. Hopefully an early Christmas present comes his, and to all Warhawk Family and Friends way, this Friday from Salem, VA. As we shed a tear that you are no longer with us, know that you will never be forgotten for all you did at UW Whitewater, much less as a husband, father and grand dad. God bless you Coach.
