Ilga Andersons Obituary
Oconomowoc - (Nee Reke) Of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 at The View at Pine Ridge in Oconomowoc.
Ilga was born in Riga, Latvia March 27th 1926. She arrived in Wisconsin in 1949. She was preceded in death by her father Arvids Reke and mother Valija (NeeLasis) Reke, and loving husband Laimonis Andersons. Mrs. Andersons is survived by her step daughter Daina Scott, grandson Bruce (Shane) Scott, and great-grandchildren Kyle and Laurel Scott.
Ilga received her teaching degree and master's degree from UW-Madison. She taught Art, German, and humanities for thirty years at Arrowhead High School until she retired in 1986.
Aside from being an educator, she was a prolific artist. Her works don the walls of many homes and are also included in a Latvian museum.
She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched, but especially by her many friends and former students.
Many thanks and appreciation go out to the staff at the staff at The View at Pine Ridge who took such loving and good care of Ilga. Memorials can be sent to The View Communities or the Milwaukee Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 9-10AM at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 10AM.
