David Lowell Olson, a devoted husband, father and son, passed away at home on December 29, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born on August 4, 1942 to parents, Halvor and Alma Olson.
David's journey began in Nashotah, where he attended grade school from 1948 to 1956, followed by Arrowhead High School from 1956 to 1960. He continued his education by attending the Madison Farm Short Course in 1961.
In addition to his work, David proudly served in the Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969. His dedication to service extended beyond the military; he was a Fire Captain for the Nashotah Fire Department from 1962 to 1989, where his bravery and commitment to community safety earned him the respect and admiration of many.
David dedicated his life to the art of carpentry, a craft he embraced with passion and precision. After completing his apprenticeship at the Vocational Technical and Adult School (WCTC) on June 12, 1966, he became a skilled carpenter, known for his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
A lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stone Bank, David's faith was a guiding force in his life. He actively participated in church activities, where he shared his love for family, community, and craftsmanship with all who knew him.
David is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (George) Geibl and their children Benjamin (Emily), Nicholas, Zachary and Joseph; son, Jeffrey (Laurie) and their fur baby, Lucy; along with other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents; and siblings Edward, Mildred and Marjorie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stone Bank in David’s name are welcome.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc WI 53066) from 10am-12pm, with a service to follow. David will be laid to rest next to his wife, Nancy, at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
