His generous heart, his optimistic love of life and delight in family and friends made him a pleasure to be with. He ended his career as Vice-President and General Manager of Dayton Industries, a division of W.W. Grainger.

After retiring, Jim was an active volunteer with Big Brothers/Sisters of Ozaukee County. In Immokalee, FL, he was a tutor at the D.R.I.L.L. Academy and a mentor with the Take Stock In Children program, as well as, a second-grade tutor at Seagate Elementary School, Naples, FL.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 2700 West Mequon Road at the corner of Range Line Road in Mequon, on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 11:30 AM. Jim and Weezie were such an important part of the DRILL Academy education tutoring program. When Jim became ill and could not continue to tutor our candidates in the program, we were concerned about he an Weezie. Mostly we missed his smiling face and support for our program. Jim was such a great man with true character. He taught our candidates not only education but he taught and demonstrated character and morality. Thank you Jim and Weezie for what you have done to enhance our program and the youth of Collier County.
