John C. Bretzel

Bretzel, John C. Peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2019 at the age of 83. Cherished husband of Sharon. Loving dad of Michael (Karen), Debra Breckenfeld, Katherine Bignell, Sue Karshna and stepdad of Michael (Elizabeth) Fossum. Dearest brother-in-law of Keith (Debra) Krueger and Keven (Susan) Krueger. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Gretchen and sister Louise Moder of Germany. John will be greatly missed by his canine buddies Daisy and Zoda. John retired in 1990 from the Wisconsin State Patrol after serving as an inspector for 26 years. He was a retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary with 20 years of volunteer service. John served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1959 as a mechanic. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Vitas Hospice for the care and comfort provided to John in his last days. Visitation Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 9 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH (3160 South 63rd Street, Milwaukee). Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
