So sorry to hear of Mike's passing today (1/6/21) from Jeff Erchul. Mike was one of my really good friends at Cathedral and coming in as a junior he was one of those who accepted me immediately. He has left many of us with fond memories.

I don't think that there was ever a time when I was with Mr. Poehlmann when he didn't make me laugh. I was a childhood friend of Julie's and he always had a funny joke to tell. He was such a happy person and devoted to his family. I admired him very much. One of the sweet stories he once told was about how when he was a boy he would "escape" to a beloved Italian bakery where he was tended to and consoled by the Italian papa there who had sisters of his own and could only truly sympathize with the young Mike who had four sisters of his own. I hope I got close to getting that story right. What I could never describe would be the joy and smiles he had in telling it. Love and peace be with you, dear Mrs. Poehlmann, Julie, Susie, Micheal, Marky, and all your beautiful children and grandchildren.

Condolences to Mrs. Poehlmann, the Poehlmann family and to everyone who Michael impacted during his life.
Michael was so kind and took time to teach and mentor me.
In his professional work he set a remarkable example for all of us. He was kind and humble in every interaction with every single person.
He will be missed.

Carol. Please accept our deepest condolences. I really enjoyed the time Mike and I spent on the Finance committee at St. James. He always provided such a common sense perspective. Plus, I got to see him many mornings as I was finishing my walk and he was taking the dog for a walk. He was always interested in what was going on with our family. So happy I got to know Mike. He will be missed. God bless you.
