Pat, I remember you as a boy and a young man, You were then close to my brother Rick Gruszynski and played in a band in our basement. You were one of the cub scouts in my mom's den. She loved you all. I know Ric has missed his friends for years. You were one of his best and truest. Heaven has itself a pretty good drummer and a wonderful soul. My condolences to your family.

My best boyhood friend from age 11~15, what dear and fantastic adventures we had! Building Radio Shack Wilkie talkies, discovering The Beatles, playing in Arlington with Mark Rooke, doing your Sunday paper route, going downtown Sunday mornings, the surplus store, the Palace Theatre balcony, Butter Burger, green tea and French fries at Big Boys, our basement band practices, you our lead singer, singing As Tears Go By, discovering girls, the hospital cafeteria, the crosswalk, evading greasers and hoods, fighting Billy Daniels, Karen and Sharon, Wilson Park, the cemetery bridge, smoking behind the wall at Morgandale, "Don Don Don! our friends Mark Rooke, Dave Dzakawicz, Mark Bromaghim, Kurt Ponath (died in Nam)...The Mothers of Invention, so many special memories, so many first times...I looked for you so many times in recent years, but you were so elusive to me. I loved you as a brother Pat, I missed you so many times. Busy living life, so happy to know you have a daughter. Her father was once very very dear to me. I cherish it all, you are in me forever. Blessing upon your good and faithful soul, may God take and keep you in peace, give you the loving reward you so greatly deserve my friend. See you again in eternity, so we can strum that guitar.
