It is fun to remember Peter looking a bit askance whenever I introduced him as "my cousin",but I always think of him that way. My deepest condolences to all the family but he has left you happy memories. Phil & Else Speller

Peter Fargo was a dear friend of my parents. I always admired Mr. Fargo from my childhood through adulthood.
He was the epitome of a 'class act'. A Hungarian James Bond. I don't ever remember Mr. Fargo in a bad mood, even when we lost as tennis partners to my father. He always had a smile and a bawdy joke to lift my spirits.
His athletic abilities and healthy, youthful appearance never ceased to impress me.
After not seeing Mr. Fargo for about 15 years since I left Milwaukee - we had a chance meeting that will forever stay in my mind. My wife and I were on a family vacation in Vail several years ago and decided to have a last minute lunch. The cafe was booked, so we decided to dine at the bar. As we were looking at the menu, I heard the fellow next to me speaking to the bartender in English with a Hungarian accent. I immediately thought to myself that I 'knew' it was a Hungarian accent because the only Hungarian I ever knew, Mr. Fargo also sounded like that. I turned to the man speaking next to me at the bar to confirm that he was indeed Hungarian - and found myself face-to-face with Peter Fargo!
We hugged & kissed and reminisced the entire lunch together. Even in his eighties he oozed virility and strength. I found an old comfort seeing that trademark twinkle in his eye. Then he announced that he was off to the slopes to ski the rest of the afternoon with his children... All I could think of the entire vacation was "Wow...what a guy!"

As a neighbor growing up next door to the Fargo household, my childhood was tremendously enhanced! Although I have not seen your father for years, my memories of him are quite vivid.
I recall his leather chair and his ability to rest so quietly in it reading the newspaper while we kids ran-about the entire house (I thought the chair must have "secret powers!") I loved his fascinating stories over warm rolls and butter when we joined him on weekend mornings; I admired his ability to chuckle at our antics outside of his very-private bedroom - each summer we'd loudly admire the ants in the peonies that grew beneath his windows and when we were caught melting crayons - for art work - in our "fort" down the hill from his very private bedroom! He always used patience, guidance and quiet understanding when we needed a little one of life's lessons. And of course, our love of sports can definitely be traced to long days spent lingering at the Raquet Club and your dad's patience with us - especially at the pool!
We will always admire his sweet way of sharing with his family and friends. My family is so fortunate to have all of you Fargos as our nearest and dearest of childhood memories. We will never forget the way your family life continuously enhanced ours! We are grateful. We thank you and your dad for sharing all that you did with us growing up and hope our kids have neighbors as good as your dad for their childhood!
Our most sincere condolences. We wish we could have been there today with your family to honor and celebrate your dad.
