Robert P. Heinrich
Age 85, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Monday, December 21, 2020.
Bob, as he was called by many, was born on October 7, 1935, in West Allis, Wisconsin. Bob was the son of Thomas and Rosa (Vogel) Heinrich. He graduated from West Allis Nathan Hale High School. After high school, he attended Marquette University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Bob worked at General Motors as an electrical engineer, as a commercial building manager in Elm Grove, WI, and as a school bus driver in the Milwaukee and Waukesha County areas. As a bus driver, many parents revered Bob for his conscientious and caring service, and he won awards for his consistently safe and outstanding work. Bob enjoyed hobbies: following the news, being a lifelong member of Toastmasters International, finding a bargain, gardening and watching the Packers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them in their activities. Bob's strong faith often led him to his favorite chapel, St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish in Elm Grove, WI, where he always lit a candle and prayed for loved ones who were dealing with difficult times. Donating to charities, such as the
Wounded Warrior Project, was also important to Bob.
Bob is survived by his eleven children and thirty-six grandchildren: Kathy (Jim) Downs, Colleen (Tony), Allison (Scott), Jillian (CJ); Suzy Viggiano, Benjamin, Joseph, Grace; John (Lori) Heinrich, Joe (Ali), Max, Jack, Rachel; Jeannie (Pat) Coughlin, Katie, Matt (Katie), Ryan (Lexie); Doug (Renea) Heinrich, David, Andrew, Emma, Lily; Beth (Jack) Loppnow, Nick (Karla), Sam, Jordan, Blake (Maria); Christine (Eric) Stanger, Julia, Brayden, Danny, Jake; Shelly (Neil) Fitzgerald, Owen, Luke; Joe (Janel) Heinrich, Alex, Eli; Carolyn (Tom) Arra, Sophia, Mia, Isla, Maximilian; Jen (Will) Szerenyi, Emerson, Charlie, Sawyer; and eight great-grandchildren: Addie, Amelia, Asher, Alonnah, Carlynn, Hallie, Kinsley, Porter, and two more on the way. He is further survived by his younger brother and best friend, Dr. Thomas (Mary) Heinrich, sister-in-law, Ellie (Bernie) Heinrich, and nieces and nephews; Debbie, Donna, Rick, Patty, David, Tom, Bob, Katie, and Michael.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Rosa and his brother, Bernard (Bernie) Heinrich.
A private family burial and a celebration of Bob's life is being planned for this spring or summer in Milwaukee, WI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob's honor to St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish at 1260 Church Street, Elm Grove, WI 53122 or to the
Wounded Warrior Project.
