W. Rubenzer Obituary

Rubenzer, W. Edward Who was born on April 24, 1926 has finished his final race, called life and Ed won. Ed took the checkered flag and ran away with it peacefully on June 14, 2015. Ed will now get a much deserved and needed pit stop. Ed was a great husband, father, brother and entrepreneur who was respected and admired by all that were lucky enough to know him. Ed was extremely unselfish, always more concerned about his kids and grandkids well-being, than his own. Ed started the process of building Storage Battery Systems, Inc. in the late 1960's alongside of his children, making it the successful business it is today. After work hours, Ed spent his free time racing cars alongside of his eldest son, Scott. Ed is survived by his strong and supportive wife of 67 years Dorothy Rubenzer, Children Scott (Kim) Rubenzer, Bill (Zena) Rubenzer, Bob (Jennifer) Rubenzer, Jean Mueller (Willie), 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great- Grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 3 Sisters. Ed's family will continue to keep his legacy alive by living life to the fullest. Ed's family will honor his life by a private celebration at a later date.

Ed, Godspeed my friend, my fellow GP racer, my mentor and racing instructor. Always a good guy! My condolences to the family, especially Dorothy and Scott.
Thanks for the memories, Al Schaefer
