Michael Kelly "Mike" Walker

1960 - 2017

Michael Kelly Walker (Mike) - age 57 - passed away peacefully August 18th, 2017 after battling a lengthy illness.

Mike was a seasoned commercial fisherman, beginning during his teenage years. He fished aboard the F/V Billie Marie for 17 years with Bruce Gleason, his skipper and close friend. He spent his winter months either working for the legislature or operating heavy equipment providing snow removal services. During his younger days, he worked for Central Duplication at the State of Alaska. He also spent several years working on a remote tug boat in Southeast Alaska and most recently, he purchased and Skippered the F/V Dundas and returned to Dungeness crabbing, an enterprise he so loved from the time he fished it with his wife in the late 80's, aboard his first vessel, the F/V Trasea.

Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Traci, his daughters Letia Tilley (Jason) and Chelsea Walker, his sons Joshua Walker (Kristen Kibby) and his youngest, a Naval Submarine Officer, LTJG Bryan Walker (Nina), and his beloved granddaughters Ashiya, Amelia, and Adilynn, who affectionately called him Papa; his brother Scott Walker, sister Michelle Walker, uncle Bill Walker, aunt Judith Walker and cousins Lisa Arehart (Scott) and Kathy Walker. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and James (Jim) Walker.
