Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather: Age 64 of Millport died Wednesday, December 17, 2014. John is survived by his best friend and loving wife Winnie; daughter, Lisa (Chris) Santamaria; grandchildren, Erick and Alyson; his very special right hand man, George Beardsley; brothers, Floyd (Joanne) Bennett, Roy Bennett; sister, Sandy (John) Harter; sister-in-law, Roseann Wilkins; brother-in-law, Nick (Cathy) Sheldon, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was an avid hunter, adored his wife and thought the world of his grandkids. John was loved by everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his family to help with expenses, c/o Winnie Bennett, 4827 Clair Rd., Millport, NY 14864. The family will receive relatives and friends, at the Kalec Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20th from 3-5 pm with his Funeral Service following at 5 pm; Pastor Randy Jackson, Officiating. Burial at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads.

Well John we had the best 46 yrs I could have asked for,I remember telling you a couple months ago never can I remember being afraid of anything or anyone as long as you were with me,,Now you promise to watch over me and all of our family including George an make sure were safe,You will be an awesome angel an enjoying eating grandma rocks food,I know in my heart we will be together again and I can't wait,I use to be afraid of dying but now I know you will be there waiting,I love you so much you have no idea,now your pain free(even from me ha ha).. I was sorry to hear about John's passing. Last time I saw him was at the fair with my granddaughter and the horses. He was my best friend when we were little kids and lived next door to each other. My condolences to everyone.

Dad I sure hope you know how much me and the kids loved you, you were the best Dad and papa anyone could ask for, you were the kindest yet strongest person I know and that strength continued to the day you left us, i hope you are pain free now as it broke my heart this past year to see you in so much pain from everything that has happend to you,but you continued to smile you are my Hero! I am sure you know how much you were loved by all of us, I could not have asked for a better father or grandfather for my children. My kids loved you to pieces and not only thought of you as their papa but their Hero. Heaven sure did get a special angel to watch over all of us. John will be so sadly missed by all who knew him. He came into this family like 46 years ago and I have never seen John without a smile on his face. Always a happy go lucky guy. Our heart aches for Winnie, Lisa and family.
