LaFaune Breitenbach Obituary

Breitenbach, LaFaune (Annie) 100, passed away on February 24, 2016, in Wichita, KS. LaFaune was a homemaker and retired cook at St. Joe Ost Catholic School. She was born on January 18, 1916, to the late Charles and Daisy Schooley in Liberal, KS. She is survived by her children, Bobbie (Jerry) Cline-Merwin of Richardson, TX, Tina (Jim) Noel of Wichita, KS, Charlie (Sue) Breitenbach of Pretty Prairie, KS; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert and 5 siblings. Memorial to St Joseph's Indian School, South Dakota. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016; Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, both at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wichita. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Ost, KS. Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain, KS.

LaFaune was more than a resident at LakePoint Retirement Campus, she was loving, caring, compassionate friend. Everyday she would come by my office, "How's you and yours?" she would always ask. She always had a smile and she has been a great inspiration to me. If I could live my life even 1/2 of what she has taught me I would be pleased. I am truly a blessed person to have her in my life and in my heart. Love and miss you my dear friend.

Tina, I hope you know how much Bob and I cared about your mom. She was a great lady. We will miss her at church. It was so good to have lunch with you both a few weeks back. May God's peace, love and comfort sustain you. We will miss you "Speedy."

On behalf of my mother, Mary Suter, I would like to extend our sympathy and condolences on the passing of Lafaune. My mom and dad (Merrill) were good friends of Lafaune and Bob. From the stories I have heard, they must have had some really good times. Growing up by Mt Vernon, I have my own special memories of Lafaune and Bob.
