Robert Strack Obituary

MEDICINE LODGE - Strack, Dr. Robert E. "Doc," age 79, as welcomed home by our Heavenly Lord and Savior on Aug. 15, 2011. Doc was born on April 4, 1932 in Iola, KS, the eldest son of Orville (Shorty) and Marguerite Walker Strack. He graduated from Iola High School in 1950 and then served 2 years in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Pittsburg State University with a B.S. Ed. Degree. He then graduated from U.M.K.C. School of Dentistry in 1962. He practiced dentistry in Medicine Lodge, KS for 38 years. Doc married Judith Twadell on December 19, 1954 in Iola. To this union three children were born. Judy preceded him in death in May, 1983. Doc married Letha Rogers on October 13, 1998. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brothers Mickey and Gary. He is survived by his wife, Letha, son Tim (Lynn) of Tempe, AZ, daughters Tamy (Brian) Poland of Isabel, KS, and Cathy (Terry) Morris of Derby, KS, step-son Monty Patton of Wichita, KS, sister Janice (Louie) Lust of Iola, KS, brother David (Annie) of Gardner, KS, 13 granchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Community Bible Fellowship in Medicine Lodge, KS at 9:00 AM, Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 under the direction of Bill Buggeln Due to cremation, in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging, Pratt, KS or Southwind Hospice, Inc., Pratt. An Honor-guard service will be held at Highland Cemetery, Iola, KS at 4:00 PM on Aug. 26. Arrangements are being handled by Hearland Mortuary of Preston, KS and condolences may be sent the the family at [email protected]
