ALICE COOPER-ALVARADO Obituary

Alice Cooper-Alvarado, age 44, of Allen, Texas, passed away October 13, 2010, in Dallas, Texas. There's something to be said for the passing of someone so dearly loved. God gave her to us on October 13, her birthday, and she died way too soon on the same day. Alice is the daughter of Raymond and Luella Cooper. She married Michael A. Alvarado on June 22, 1991, in Kansas City, Kan. She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Alvarado of Allen, Texas; her mother, Luella Cooper, KCK, and her brother, Lynn Lutjen, Sedalia, Mo., sisters, Brenda Wing, KCK, Doretta Davis, Lee's Summit, Mo., Lynda Cooper, KCK, and many nieces and nephews that loved her so much, James, Jeanne, Jeron, Krissy, Dusty, Derek, Luke, Anthony, Marcus and Stella; mother-in-law, Esther Alvarado, brother-in-law, John Alvarado, and sister-in-law, Carmen Ortiz of KCK. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond C. Cooper in 2002 and infant brother, Eddie Ray Cooper. All friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial service which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Antioch Church, 5201 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kan. A memorial service was also held for her friends in Texas at St. Jude's on Oct. 15. A private family service will be officiated by Father Dennis on Oct. 23, at the home of Alice's mom. Alice was born with a loving heart. She gave freely of herself and was always there to lend a hand when friends or the family needed her. She was an awesome cook. Her lifelong friends were her doggies, Abby, Hailey and kitty cat, Hazel. Shorty and Pepper, who are in heaven, are smiling now that they have her back. It is difficult to part with someone so dearly loved. We thank God for everyday he gave her to us and know that he took her because he needed a special angel. Mike: I worked with Alice from the first day to the last day at John Deere. Everyone thought she was a beautiful person with a huge heart. She was a fabulous cook, always looking for the perfect cup of coffee! When I think back about Alice, I smile. She had that wonderful smile and that laugh, I will never forget that laugh! I am so sorry and hope remembering the best of times helps you cope with your loss. She definitely loved life!!

Mike, like everyone, I was stunned to learn of Alice's death, and very sad that I had not spoken to her in over a year. I will always remember how she spoke lovingly of you and the pups, and of her family. I do not believe I ever saw her in the same pair of shoes twice! You built her a shoe closet, I believe, we laughed and laughed about that! In all my 47 years in the workforce, the two I spent working with Alice were the best and most fun. I will always remember her laugh - it was special and so was she. I am very sorry I cannot attend the memorial.

Mike - Rick and I were absolutely floored when we heard about Alice. What a great loss for the earth, but a wonderful addition to heaven. We were all lucky to have known her as long as we did. I have so many funny, wonderful memories from working next to Alice at Deere and in attending some of our after work functions. Please know that you have always been considered an extraordinary individual, and Alice was devoted to you. Take comfort in knowing that you are in many people's thoughts and prayers and please let us know if there is ever anything we can do. We love you!

Michael, Aunt Ester, John Joe, Carmen and Cooper Family,

We will continue to keep Alice and each of you in our prayers. What a blessing God gave to my cousins the Alvarado Family in bringing Alice into their lives for so many years as Carmen's friend and then as Michael's wife. When I think of Alice, I remember her always having a beautiful big smile on her face and always being so pleasant. I am so glad Alice was able to see her newest niece Baby Carmen. I'm sure she brought a beautiful smile to Alice's face. I know Alice will now help my Nino Uriel keep watch over the family, both lighting up the heavens with their big beautiful smiles!
