ALLEN LEROY NICKEL 1938 - 2017 Allen "Nick" Leroy Nickel, 79, passed peacefully on December 26, 2017, at 11 p.m. at his home in Cuba, MO. He was born Sept. 30, 1938, to Mary Elizabeth (Graham) and Clyde Calvin Nickel of Winston, MO. Nick (Nick Allen #33) spent his younger days tearing up the racetrack winning countless races and becoming a favorite at the tracks. He later joined the Floor Layers Union and eventually opened his own company, AC Distributors that thrived for many years before he finally retired. On June 18, 2010, he married his sweetheart, Diane Shirley West. They spent their time living the lake life, riding their Harley, fishing, golfing and traveling. Survivors include his mother Mary, his wife Diane, his brother Larry and sister-in-law Cheryl, his sons and daughter, their spouses, his grandchildren Nicholas and Jessie and his great grandchild Nicholas Jr., as well as many nephews, great nephews, great nieces, step children, step grandchildren, great step grandchildren, and best friend of 40 years, Charlie Day. His father Clyde preceded him in death. A celebration of his life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, at The Emaline Ballroom, 635 SW 2nd St., Lee's Summit, MO.
