BONNIE SHARP Obituary

Bonnie Jean Sharp "Bsharp," 66, passed March 21, 2013, she moved on to her heavenly peace while resting at her home. At her request, no service will be held. There will be a "Celebration of her Life." Bonnie was born Sept. 3, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan. Her parents, Walter C. Purinton and Edna Mae Purinton, along with her brother, Jack proceeded her in death. Bonnie was married to Dr. Elmer W. Sharp on Jan. 22, 1966, and their daughter, Stephanie, renewed their wedding vows in Carlsbad, Calif., on Jan. 23, 2013 (on the first day starting their 48 years together). Bonnie graduated from Argentine High School class of 1964 and continued her education at UMKC graduating with Dean's Honors, which is no surprise. She was active in her community and considered it a huge honor to serve as the voice for her community in The Kansas State House of Representatives from 1996-2006. Bonnie was a loyal friend and amazing mentor who touched many people from different walks of life. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Elmer W. Sharp, KCK; her only child, Stephanie A. Urban and Trevor L. Urban Basehor, Kan., and "the loves of her life," Truston W. Urban and Auston L. Urban, Basehor. Meme loved her boys more than anyone has loved before. A Celebration of Bonnie's Life will be held between 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at her favorite restaurant, Amigo's, 2737 S. 47th St., KCK. Arrangements: Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory, 4101 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102 (913) 371-0699. Online condolences may be left at www.highlandparkfh.com

Elmer-You were blessed to have Bonnie in your life and I'm certain you have a wealth of memories to comfort you. I just ran into TJ Reardon and he told me of her passing. I regret just knowing now about the celebration. Had I known I'd have been there. God bless you and your family but the pain of her absence will be replaced by memories. Your care for my dad Jim was a real blessing. He managed 92 years with your help Doc. There's a plan afoot for a 50th AHS reunion next June. I really hope you and your family can come to represent Bonnie and share your thoughts.

Elmer and Stephanie, I remember being in bible group with Bonnie in the old days, when our children were small and what a fun time we had growing in the Lord together. And much later I worked at Jones Store with Stephanie. Bonnie was a beautiful lady. May our God and Savior give your family grace to go through these coming days, months and years.

Elmer & Stephanie, We are so sorry to read of Bonnie's death. She was in my class at Argentine High. We were not especially close in school, but at every school reunion, she always made people feel as though they were her best friend, and she was always so sweet to everyone. I just know that she was a very happy lady and she told me the last time I saw her that she attributed her happiness to Elmer. Rest In Peace Bonnie. Enjoy your heavenly home and you will be reunited with your loved ones in time.
