Denise Sharp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lauer Family Funeral Home Affordable Cremation Solutions Jackson - Jackson on Mar. 9, 2026.
Denise Sharp, 75, of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 22, 2026, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.

Denise was born November 9, 1950 to Russell and Ona Hamilton. She was the youngest of her siblings, Larry and Jacqueline.

Denise was a 1968 graduate of East Jackson High School, and following graduation, she completed schooling at Jackson College to pursue her dream of nursing. She had dedicated over four decades to her career before retiring.

Denise found joy in the simplest things in life, including gardening, travel, and her love for Harry Potter that she enjoyed with her family. She traveled the world exploring a variety of cultures, such as Nepal, Africa, Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Italy to name a few. Her love for her dearest, closest friends, Jenny Smith and Frances Wartella, lead her to yearly shopping trips and adventures spent up north.

Her love and passion for her grandchildren, David Rodriguez II and Hailey Rodriguez was evident. She retired in order to create more memories with her grandchildren, and to travel across the country to various sporting events to support their endeavors. Denise was a devoted mother, but her true passion and purpose was her role as a grandmother. She delighted in her grandchildren's humor, and the laughter they brought into her life as no one else could do.

She will also be remembered fondly for her warmth, generosity and her repeated phrases "it is what it is", and "Jeanene Marie!"

Denise is survived by her loving daughter Jeanene Marie Rodriguez (Sharp) of Jackson, cherished grandchildren, David Rodriguez II (Taylor Dzierwa) , and Hailey Rodriguez. Lifelong friends Jenny Smith and Frances Wartella, and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Ona Hamilton of Jackson, Michigan, brother Larry Hamilton, and sister Jacqueline Mazur.

Honoring Denise's wishes, cremation has taken place.
