Catherine L. (Westerman) Russell
October 16, 1941 - June 5, 2023
Overland Park, Kansas - Catherine L. Russell, 81, passed away June 5, at Silverado Memory Care. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St. Overland Park, KS. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: The American Heart Association or to Catholic Charities.
Catherine was in the first graduating class from Bishop Miege High School in 1959.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Russell. She is survived by her children, Michelle Lever, Keith & Greg Hoeflicker, stepmother to Greg Russell & Christine Wall, grandmother to Amanda, Sophia, Lucas, Lexi, Ryan, Claudia, Jessica and great grandmother to Hayden.

Oh my dear Cathy, how time flies. I wish we could go back to Westport and have crab legs (all you can eat) some Tuesday like old times. Your picture is in a clock in my kitchen with others whos birthdays are different months. I see your smiling face everyday.

What wonderful memories I have sharing fun with Cathy. I met her in 1972 and even got married at her pool in Lenexa in 1983. It was so great when she and Joe came to Arizona for a visit, I have beautiful pictures, snap shots. She was one of my oldest and dearest friends.
