I wrote two years ago, and today increased my flashback with a video including Dave. https://youtu.be/-vdSO_-Wq6I?si=tw2Dl2s6hJota2Lb He lived it ... a life well lived.

I only learned today of the death of my dear dear friend Dave. We were roommates in the early 1960s before we each married. I love this man like a brother and I'm sad to hear of his earthly death. But I know he is in heaven and look forward to being reunited with him. His faith in Jesus was unrivaled. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. I hope a member of his family will call me at 713 501 5268.

My Father, Sam Kromer, who was a coach for many years, coached Dave in High School baseball. He ended up taking Dave on his trip to see Branch Rickey in Pittsburgh that led to his signing.
We lost my Dad last year, but I wanted to share that my Dad always talked about Dave in the highest regard, and they communicated fairly regularly for over 60 years. As Dad was in failing health over the last 5-6 years and battled dementia, he always mentioned Dave as one he wanted to reach out to, and he was very fond and appreciative of their long relationship.
Please accept our families condolences on your loss.

Dave was a wonderful man of God, friend, father, and brother in Christ. We will miss seeing him at church, but will enjoy eternity with him and Carol Sue. Much love to all the family from all of our family! Boyd & Rory Beck

Dave spoke to me as a teenager by citing Col. 3:17 and once I learned what that said and about whom Dave lived I made that verse my life verse. He and Carol Sue were dear friends and supporters to me and my work. We lost a champion today. Thanks be to God for his servant Dave.

Dave was a huge presence at church always with a smile and a hug for anyone. We felt so special knowing his past with MLB and getting to talk up close and personal. Mike often talked about seeing him play. He passed just a few months ago and I'm sure he was excited to see Dave and maybe pass a few balls around. God's blessings to the kids and grands. You Will see him again.
