I was blessed to be a part of this family for many years and to have loved and learned from this wonderful woman. I shall love her forever and owe so much to her, this very big-hearted, kind woman.

I am a granddaughter of Lora Fahrner Jackson, one of Gladys’ closest friends while living in Boonville, and daughter of Martha Jackson Schrader. I remember Dr. Beckett and Gladys coming to visit my grandmother on Fourth Street—they could walk. Lora and Gladys did many things together, at church, on walks, sharing garden flowers. Gladys came to visit Lora when she was ill prior to her death at 101 on July 12, 1999. Gladys noticed the roses placed in the kitchen in honor of her visit. They did not say much, Lora told us, just held hands for the entire visit. I am so grateful for having her at grandmother’s house that last time. There are many fine, proud memories. Both of them are greatly missed, but live in our hearts every day and in our gardens. How lucky we are. I take comfort in knowing that they will remain close to each other. My mother and I will be honored to attend her service at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Always with love and affection,

I am the youngest grandchild of Gladys Beckett. I am so proud and blessed to have loved and known this wonderful woman as my Grandmother, my GiGi,my TuTu. She lived a full and wonderful life, and she was the most loving and gentle person. Her memory will always live on in my heart and soul. Without her and my Granddaddy, I would not have my beautiful mother Barbara, and I would not have the wonderful life that I have lived. Peace, Light, & Love - she will be missed. SMJ
