Leawood, Kansas - Jean Tucker Lundell, age 98, passed away on October 24, 2022 at The Plaza Healthcare Center at Santa Marta, Olathe, KS. She was born September 21, 1924 to Charles Clifford and Mary McAuliffe Tucker in Kansas City, MO. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph N. Lundell and sister Gail Tucker. Survivors include daughter Barbara Lundell Moriarty (Michael), son Eric Lundell (Dr. Sue Lowe), granddaughters Megan Moriarty (Ed Healy) and Julia Moriarty and grandson Sven Lundell.
She graduated from Paseo High School in 1941 and attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL. She transferred to the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated in 1945. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma where she served as chapter president. After college, she was a flight attendant for Mid-Continent Airlines (later Braniff).
She married Major Ralph Lundell on August 29, 1947 and they lived in Washington, D.C. during active Army duty. They returned to Kansas City in 1948 but also lived briefly in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau, MO, during Ralph's career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Kansas City Alumnae Association, Tomahawk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Braniff Clipped B's organization and volunteered over 30 years for the Christ Episcopal Church Altar Guild. She served as a Brownie Scout leader in the 1950s. She was an avid water exerciser and enjoyed tennis, gardening and world travels. She was a family caregiver for many older relatives for over 20 years.
Private memorial service at a later date. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, Overland Park, KS or the Alzheimer's Association.

Condolences from all of us to Eric, Sue, and Sven. Your mom, mother-in-law, and grandma was an important presence in your lives, and I know you will miss her greatly. My mom was also wonderful, so let's get together and celebrate these two amazing women--a sad year. Let us know if we can help in any way.

My sympathies to you, Sue, and Sven. Thank you so much for sharing the awesome photos and wonderful history of her life. I know she was a wonderful person, as her son is such an amazing man and kind wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you during such a sad time.
