Keith Powell Obituary

Keith DeWayne Powell, 66, 35-year Edgerton resident, passed away September 17, 2008 at Olathe Medical Center. 10 a.m. visitation on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, (913) 856-7111. Graveside services following at 11:30 a.m. at Gardner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the GEHS Quarterback Club. Condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com. Keith was born April 18, 1942 in Pittsburg, KS, to Milton Oliver and Thelma (Eccles) Powell. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North and Wyandotte County Jr. College. Keith married Marymartha "Marty" McNevin on December 23, 1961 in Roeland Park. Keith was a foreman at Fairfax General Motors for 26 years, retiring in 1985. He also was an owner/operator of Powell Brothers Ice Company and Powell Dump Trucks. Time spent with his grandkids was very special and he will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Keith is survived by his wife, Marty, of the home; children, Kirk and Akemi Powell, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Kit and Debbie Powell, Edgerton, KS; grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Brian and Kelly; sibling, Vickie Sue and Richard Wilson, Edgerton, Larry Powell of Spring Hill, and Kevin and Jeanne Powell of Gardner.
