To Mrs. Werner, Mike, Tim, Susie, Tom, John, and Chris,
I just wanted to offer my sympathy to all of you at this time. Your husband and father was a very good man who had a significant impact on a lot of people's lives. I am not sure he realized how far reaching his influence was on the people who he interacted with. There are so many stories of coach that I have heard that I would not even be able to count them all. I still have vivid memories of him pacing the floor before games and talking about the three "P's", (Poise, Pride, and Persistence). Coach, you taught us by example how to "give that little extra!". We will miss you.

My deepest sympathy to the Werner family. Coach was one of my great teachers about life as well as football. I think of him often while coaching high school football, especially when trying to teach young men the importance of pride, discipline, and respect. Thank you Coach,

When things get tough I often reflect on what it takes to be a "C H A M P I O N". Thanks Coach, for the many opportunities you afforded me while in High School and the indomitable spirit you helped make a part of my daily approach to life. My prayers are with you and your family.
