Ray Fields Obituary

Ray Allen Fields
August 18, 1959 - January 23, 2023
Kansas City, Missouri - Ray Allen Fields, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday, January 23, 2023, after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
Ray was born on August 18, 1959, in Kansas City, the son of Robert Rae Allen Fields and Donna Lee (Simmons) Henslee. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Mary Borraccini of Parkville, Missouri on April 18, 1981.
Ray grew up in the Parkville area. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran many different businesses over the years, from pallet construction and sales, "Wings of Love" gift shop in Antioch Mall, and operating a small consignment business with "Treasures of the Past" up until his last days. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and anytime there was a game, he scared babies with his booming cheers as the team played. He was a wonderful gardener and took pride in being able to share his home-grown vegetables with family. He became a bit of a tea connoisseur and could tell you exactly which tea would help with any ailment. He loved to cook and even invented his own "Who's Your Daddy" spaghetti sauce. We have no doubt he would have mass produced it and sold it worldwide if he'd had just a little more time. While he loved the Chiefs, gardening, tea, and cooking, what he loved the most were his family and friends. There was nothing he enjoyed more than having his family around the table for a meal while laughing, playing games, helping to solve problems, and sharing memories. Behind only God and faith, he believed that family is the most important thing in the world. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He built an incredible legacy that will live on through those whose hearts he touched with his advice, care, and love.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Fields of Kansas City; his mother, Donna Lee Henslee of Kansas City; three sons, Michael Fields of Kansas City, Gabriel Fields (Julianne) of Kansas City, and Joshua Fields of Kansas City; four daughters, Amanda Brown (Fix) of Ankeny, Iowa, Jessica Hannah (Keith) of Topeka, Kansas, Rebekah Fields of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Sarah Fields of Kansas City; one brother, Estel William Tierney (Brenda) of Kansas City; and eight grandchildren, Riley, Gavin, Bella, Mikayla, Luisa, Mateo, Chloe, and Peter. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Maxie Edward Fields, and one sister, Donna Sue Roberds.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cancer Research Institute. They can be made online at: https://www.cancerresearch.org

Fond memories of sitting on the porch talking with Ray, solving the world's problems and reminiscing about our boys being in Royal Rangers. We will miss him.
