Cozad resident, 71

COZAD - Chauncey "Terry" Williams, 71, of Cozad died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ on Newell in Cozad with Mike Dennis officiating. Burial will be at Cozad Cemetery.

Visitation for memorial book signatures will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.

He was born June 27, 1936, in Cozad to Chauncey and Elva (Power) Williams.

In 1956, he married Beverly Fairchild in Julesburg, Colo.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Teri Lee Deans of Lexington, Vicki Andersen of Spokane, Wash., and Kim Swedburg of Axtell; his mother of Elwood; brother, Alan of Richardson, Texas; sister, Carolyn Jobman of Livonia, Mich.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Additional survivors include his sons-in-law, Randy Deans of Lexington, Pete Andersen of Spokane and Tom Swedburg of Axtell; sister-in-law, Lynette Williams of Richardson; brother-in-law, Wayne Jobman of Livonia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He attended Cozad High School and graduated in 1955.

He and his wife made their home in Cozad, where he worked in grain merchandising before retiring in 2003.

He was known as an outgoing person who knew no strangers and loved to tell stories. He enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and cribbage. He loved watching his grandchildren in their various activities, including Axtell football games. His greatest enjoyment came from his family.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and a past member of the Cozad Elks Lodge and several bridge clubs.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1984.

Memorials are suggested to the Church of Christ, Cozad High School Memorial Scholarship Fund or Central Plains Home Health and Hospice.
