Jerry Hoffman Obituary
NORTH PLATTE - Jerry M. Hoffman, 55, of North Platte died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Platte with the Rev. Robert Wiest officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
He was born July 27, 1956, in Kearney to Darwin and Arline (LeDroit) Hoffman.
On June 18, 1977, he married Robyn Unick in Pleasanton.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Jessica Leach and her husband, Zach, of St. Libory; son, Nathan Hoffman of Kearney; mother, Arline Slocum of Kearney; sister, Brenda Maulsbury and her husband, Kevin, of Aurora; brother, Tim Hoffman and his wife, Diane, of Loup City; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
He attended school and graduated from Litchfield High School. Jerry worked for 26 years at Eaton Corp. In 2006, he and his wife moved to North Platte and Jerry hired on at Union Pacific Railroad as a diesel electrician.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Lake Maloney Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Those who were friends to him knew him as a kind, gentle man.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
A memorial has been established.

Your loss over the last two weeks seems very unfair, but you also knew two of the best men I have ever known. Your Dad was a great mentor to me as I grew up, I am sure he had no clue. Your husband was the most decent guy I probably ever knew. Our sincere codolences to you and your family for your significant loss. Please let me know if you plan a memorial for Jerry. I was so sorry to hear about Jerry. I think back to our days at Litchfield High School and remember him as always being a good person. He was one of the best in Maintainence that we had at Eaton Corp also. I miss him already. We will include Jerry and your father in our prayers.
