Larry R. Mason, 77, of Kearney, died February 25, 2024 at C.H.I. Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be 11:00 am, March 9, 2024 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services with Scott Guthrie officiating. The family requests that anyone attending the service drive their classic car or motorcycle to the service. Memorials are suggested to the family, to be designated later. Larry was born July 4, 1946 in Milford, Nebraska. He obtained his G.E.D. in Grand Island and then attended Central Community College. He started driving trucks and continued for various companies in the area for over 15 years, and then for Advanced Auto Parts in Kearney until retiring in 2014.
Larry married Gloria Lyons and they lived in Grand Island and then Kearney.
Larry had a strong relationship with the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and hunting, woodworking, cooking, gardening, and working on anything automotive.
Larry is survived by his wife Gloria Mason of Kearney; son, Tim and Jeni Mason of Gibbon, NE; grandsons, AJ and Kate Mason of Kearney, NE, Josh and Amber Mason of Minden, NE; great grandson, Wesley Mason of Kearney, NE; sisters, Dianna Melroy of Holdrege, NE, Judy and Doug Spath of Sioux City, IA; brother, Scott Mason of Des Moines, IA.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Mason, stepfather James Mason, brother Jim Mason, and sister Nancy Barker.
