Ross Ehresman

Ex-Riverdale resident, 93

KEARNEY - Ross William Ehresman, 93, of Kearney, formerly of Riverdale, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riverdale Christian Church with the Rev. Scott Guthrie officiating. Burial will be at Riverdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney and one hour before service time Monday at the church.

He was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Miller to William and Mary (Schukar) Ehresman.

On Feb. 10, 1932, he married Hazel Robbins in Kearney.

Survivors include his wife; son, Charles of San Marcos, Texas; daughter, Margaret Olson of Berwyn; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Additional survivors include his daughter-in-law, Lucille Ehresman of San Marcos, and son-in-law, Marvin Olson of Berwyn.

He attended Grandview Country School District 88 northeast of Miller.

He and his wife farmed in the Miller area until October 1956 when the family moved to a farm near Racine, Minn. They farmed near Racine until they retired in 1987. In June 1987, they moved to Riverdale where they became members of Riverdale Christian Church. They lived in Riverdale until they moved to St. Luke's on Jan. 9, 2004.

He enjoyed the farm life and animals. While in Minnesota he served on the Sumner Center Township Board for more than 20 years. He and his wife were members of Sumner Center United Methodist Church near Racine and later Pleasant Grove Christian Church near Stewartville, Minn., until they moved to Riverdale.

He was preceded in death by one great-grandson in infancy, three sisters and one brother.

Memorials are suggested to Riverdale Christian Church or St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village in Kearney.

Chuck and Lucille:

May the Lord of love and peace be with you during this time as you celebrate the wonderful life of your father. I remember you both so well from our teenage years and I also recall that you and I were in Japan in 1964. You in the northern part and I near Mount Fuji at NAS Atsugi. God bless you and strengthen you during this time.
