Elsie L. Morganegg, 100, of Yorkville, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living of Yorkville, IL. She was born April 17, 1925, in Cicero, IL, the daughter of John and Anna (Chum) Kunz. Her 100th birthday was celebrated with an open house at Cedarhurst in April. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Rudolph and John, her sister, Anne Burda, her husband, Wayne, and a son, Robert Michael.
Elsie was very proud of her Czech heritage and her Czech given name, Eliska.
Elsie married Wayne Morganegg on October 11, 1946. They lived in Yorkville for their entire marriage of 75 years, until his death in 2021. Elsie loved cooking, swimming, and seeing musicals. At age 99, she swam at Oswego Park District pool, and attended Million Dollar Quartet in Aurora, IL. Elsie was a member of Yorkville American Legion Aux. #489 for over 75 years, often contributing her favorite coffeecakes.
She is survived by her son, Denny and his wife, Sue, for whom she thanked for their care and support. She is also survived by her son, James and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Special Thanks to the great staff of Cedarhurst, Angels Grace Hospice, and Mark and Ruth Johnson for the kindness and care shown to her.
In accordance with Elsie's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation Rites were accorded to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Yorkville American Legion Aux #489. For more information or to sign the online guest book, go to www.EighnerFuneralHomes.com
