Daniel Dresen Obituary
1987 - 2013
Daniel Karl Danny Dresen, 25, of Racine, passed away in Iowa due to a tragic automobile accident on Jan. 12, 2013. Danny was born in Fond du Lac on July 31, 1987, the son of Karl and Pamela (nee: Gessert) Dresen. He was very involved with the Varsity soccer team and a proud graduate of William Horlick High School Class of 2005. Danny was united in marriage to Sara Escobar in Chicago, Ill., on March 24, 2012. He was a member of St. Ritas Catholic Church where he received his First Holy Communion and his Confirmation. Danny served his country honorably in the United States Army, First Battalion Seventh Field Artillery, during Operation New Dawn. He loved music and was a devoted bass player and proud band member of Detaind.
Danny is survived by his parents, Pam and Karl, wife, Sara, two brothers; Matthew (Lisa) Dresen of Milwaukee, Joshua (Amber) Dresen of Virginia Beach, Va.; niece, Kierstin and nephew, Tanner. He is also survived by grandparents, Jeanne (Earl) Whitney of Brookfield, in addition to many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret Dresen and Richard Sawicki.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ritas Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave. Racine on Saturday Jan. 19, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Kevin C. Mullins OSA, officiating. Danny will be laid to rest with full military honors at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in a private ceremony.
Visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. with mass scheduled at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Danny in a special way may direct memorials to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
The entire Dresen family would like to extend a very special heartfelt thank you for all the love and support received from so many family and friends during this most difficult and sad time. Thank you and God Bless You!

Charlie is now lving in Portland, and heard of Danny's passing thru Facebook. After checking it was him for sure, he was very upset, as was I. I remember many soccer games we attended watching our boys play soccer. They both added a little "spark" to the team. Our most sincere condolences to your whole family. .........Danny, although he was Dresen to us. Was, and will always be a very close friend. We deployed to Iraq together, and came back stateside together. Over the course of about 2 years or so, we made a lot music together, he was one of my best friends, and now I will never play my music the same. His family spent last thanksgiving with my family, and I am glad I was able to have him there. Me and family are thinking of yours.
