Mary T. DiCello

1912 - 2012

Mary T. DiCello, 99, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Clare Bridge of Kenosha with her family at her side.

Born in Kenosha on Dec. 13, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William and Zennonia Maslowski. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools.

On Nov. 25, 1939, she married Gabriel DiCello at St. Anthonys Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1970.

From 1929, until 1939, she worked for Coopers and from 1954, until 1968, Mary taught cake decorating at G.T.I. She later was a cook at Carthage College from 1970 until her retirement in 1990.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, The Italian American Ladies Auxiliary, Kenosha Senior Citizens, and Matt Hermans Vanity Fair. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and cake decorating. Mary was very talented when it came to craft projects.

Surviving are a son, Anthony T. (Diana) DiCello of Austin, TX; a daughter, Cassandra (Henry) Turco of Lindenhurst, Ill.; three grandchildren, Rick (Jill) Turco, Rica (Bruce) Kilroy and Todd (Belinda Usleman) DiCello; and five great-grandchildren, Alexandra Turco, Jack Henry Turco, Isabella Turco, Madison Kilroy and Chloe Kilroy.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Edward; three sisters, Frances Douglas, Genevieve Klobuchar and Ann Sandberg; and a daughter, Mary at birth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
