Carl HURD Obituary

HURD Carl, 82, loving husband for 62 years of Helen J. Hurd, died Thu, July 1, 2010 at his residence. Born in Lexington, he was the son of the late Toby and Flossie Barnes Hurd. Carl was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a retired concrete contractor. Besides his wife, he is survived by: six children, Gary (Sharon) Hurd of Lexington, Randy (Mary) Hurd of Garrard Co, Judy Hurd of Richmond, Ricky Hurd of Lexington, Sherry (John) Kakar of Georgetown and Timmy Hurd of Lexington; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters. The family would like to give a special thanks to Carl's caregivers; Donna Hatfield, Cindy Fields and Mary Hurd. Funeral services will be 12:30pm Tue at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Visitation will be 6-8pm Mon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr, Lexington, KY 40504.
