I only found out today about the passing of Jeff. He built our first house. He was so kind, helpful, and straight forward. I remember being so stressed out in the closing because the guy doing my loan was a bit of a bear. He was going back and forth with the realtor and Jeff just started talking to me and right there in the closing he wrote down his receipe for rolls, which I still have. He was a unique man and he was just fun. I never saw him that he didn't talk to me even when I would pass him in the neighborhood he would stick out his arm and wave. I am just so shocked and saddened by this. I am praying for your family. Trust in God no matter how hard it seems. To Jeff's children: I lost my father 7 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. You will remember your dad and his goodness all the days of your life. Though it seems impossible right now as time goes by the pain eases and the memories become even more precious. May God bless you with peace and strength as you press forward.

To the Family of Jeff Maynard

I met Jeff only days before his passing and our group remarked that he was a man full of life and a generous heart. I was part of the fishing party at Goose Lake Canada staying in the next cabin and one of the lucky recepients of Jeff's cooking "extras". Each night he sent over fresh baked rolls or "specials of the evening" that made our dinner pale in comparison. Here we are, 100 miles for another human life and a gentleman is baking fresh rolls. We instantly became friends of "the cook" and were stunned when he collapsed. He became a friend to all of us and we did our best to evacuate him. I'm so sorry to hear he passed away.
I'm sure you and many others have great memories of his life that you will recall for ever.

My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

In working for hhgregg I got to know Jeff more as a friend than as a client. I soon realized his commitment to family and friends. He always spoke about his children and seemed very proud of their path to success and endeavors in school. I will always remember how Jeff had a funny way with words....He told me because of my persistance that he would begin to do business with us. I am so glad for this as I gained a friend as a result.
My prayers go out to you Lois Ann, Josh, Haley, Mick, and Karly.

Lois Ann, Josh, Haley, Mick, and Karly,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Clearly Jeff is remembered as a person who lived life to its fullest, who loved his family dearly, and who brought a positive light to everyone he crossed paths with.

We'll also always remember Jeff as someone who shared our passion for the lake. There was no doubt that no one got more enjoyment and fun packed into a weekend of boating at the lake than the Maynards, where we met over a decade ago. And Jeff was clearly the epicenter of it all!

Our thoughts and prayers have been often with you since we heard, and those are thoughts of celebration for Jeff, who has lived life more in his time than most will live in their own lifetimes.

Sincerely,
Patty and Marty Zutt, Lindsay and Lauren

P.S. A total coincidence, a few weeks ago I came across an old photo of Jeff and me at the lake, probably within weeks of when we first met. So I am sharing it hopefully here as an uploaded photo.

All of my heart, thoughts and prayers are with Lois, Josh, Haley, Mick, and Karly. Jeff will be truely missed by me, my family, and so many many more people. Jeff is one of the most creative and hilarious men I will ever know. I remember the HUGE swingset he built in the backyard on Pleasant Grove. Still to this day, I don't think a swingset exists with a human hampster wheel attached like the one Jeff built. And there is also no one in Lexington who can hang Christmas lights like Jeff could. You can't buy icicle lights anywhere as pretty as the ones Jeff made. I will always remember his great personality and his love for his family who I am thinking about everyday.

Lois Ann and family, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. It was very evident of what a family man Jeff was while following our TC Lacrosse players around the city. Jeff was always there supporting his son and the rest of the team. Jeff found a way to share some of his kitchen creations on the field by running the TC concessions. It was very obvious to all what a great husband, father, son and friend Jeff was. May your many memories keep your heart full during this very difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Although we haven't seen Jeff in a few years, seeing Hayley at a wedding about a year ago brought back such memorable memories of cheerleading and lake time, etc. Jeff was always happy and mellow. Just recently getting a blue healer reminds us every day of Rocky and the times spent with them at the lake. Also, seeing the back of their house every morning out the front window. He will be remembered forever. Rest in peace Jeff. Stay strong Maynard family and know that you will always have family in the background for help and prayers!!! So sorry.

To Lois Ann, Josh, Haley, Mick and Karly, also to Richard and Ruth and sister Cindy,

We are saddened to hear of Jeff's passing. We will always remember Jeff's easy smile, his generous nature and his love of life. Jeff was an outstanding cook who made our guests stop in their tracks while they sniffed the air and exclaimed "Do you smell that? What is he cooking now?" They were the grateful recipients of home made cinnamon buns and sausage rolls. Jeff's last trip up the trail to the waiting airplane was somber but dignified. He was carefully carried by the same fishermen who had enjoyed his company and wished to help in any way they could. Our sincere condolences to the family.
