May the Lord bless you richly for all the marvelous work you have done in his name. I thank you for being obedient and answering the call the Lord had on your life and following the right path. It's because of your heart, love for the Lord and obedience that I am able to pray correctly for my family, friends, people I don't know and enemies to keep them covered in the Lords name. I thank you for writing this little Red Book that does Great works in the Lord name. In Jesus name Amen

I did not know Dick Broadbent passed away until today. I met Dick in the late 90's at Liberty Worship Center where he was very dedicated to God and intercessory/prayer for others. My oldest daughter had the pleasure of working with Dick, his wife, Sandy and others putting together information for the Prayer Book several years ago. Dick was a very loving, caring man and I know he is missed a lot. God Bless to all his loved ones!!

I believe I went to Cristobal Elementary School and Junior High school with Dick in the Canal Zone. He lived nearby and his mother was the den mother for my cub scout pack. I think his father was an Executive for Coca Cola.I just learned of his passing today while browsing the internet. I'm sorry I never got together with him after he left Panama. Cody Staples

I thank the Lord for Mr. Broadbent's generosity to plant seeds at Abba's House. My husband and I have been members of Abba's House for almost 16 years, and we're just two of the many who have reaped the benefits of his generosity. Just think: right now in heaven Mr. Broadbent is experiencing great rewards for his love for the Lord to spread the gospel through MANY avenues! He quietly went about doing what God called him to do, being God's obedient servant.
I'm praying for all the family at this time. May God surround you with His peace, comfort, strength, hope, and joy. Without the Lord, we're nothing.

I worked for Mr. Broadbent for 8 years and witnessed first-hand the many, many lives he touched. He loved the Lord very much and wanted everyone to experience the love, grace and mercy of God like he had. I was privileged to be a part of putting together a Prayer Book for Mr. Broadbent to be given out (free of charge) to anyone who asked for one. He gave box loads to places like the Hope Center and different churches all over Kentucky and abroad. I will never forget his generosity. [Thank you Mr. B.]
~To the entire Broadbent Family~ Please except my deepest condolences on your loss.

My condolences to Dick's family. Dick was very influential to my beginning knowledge of computers and databases. He was a man that was way, way before his time. He revolutionized the horse industry in pedigree research and it is just amazing how far it all come since the late 70s. No internet back then. I attribute the beginnings of a long career that I still work in today because of this man.
With deepest sympathies,

The impact of camp scholarships given to children here in south-eastern Kentucky is bigger than the joy inside of me as a camp director when a truck full of sleeping bags, bibles, and camp supplies parked at my door waiting to be unloaded. That impact is also bigger than the smiles on those kids faces when we said, "Yes, it's yours. You get to keep it and take it home with you." I think we started to get a glimpse of that impact when God touched lives around our evening campfires. Now, I'm looking forward to seeing what God will do in the lives of campers who had their lives transformed by Christ all because of a summer camp scholarship. Thanks for making that impact possible

Dick was a good employer and a true friend to both of us. RL came from Houston in 1976 to work in the computer department when Bloodstock Research was still on Alexandria Drive. He continued to work for him until the business was sold to Churchill Downs in 2007. Martha worked as his personal assistant for 3 1/2 years. Dick was always very generous to us. He was a warm hearted friend and one we will never forget. Both of us stopped by to see him at Christian Word recently, and we are glad we did.
Our sympathy goes out to the whole family, especially the children whom we have watched grow up.
God bless.

Since 1981 I worked for Mr. B under various titles-Crestwood Farm, Thoroughbred Times, BRIS he was of intimidating size and stature. Yet, he and his right-hand Lady (Linda Hood) didn't hesitate a minute to provide me a lounge chair at work to relieve my swollen feet when I was nine months pregnant with my son Richard, who at the age of 22 was also called back home. I had the pleasure of knowing the man with the red hair and temper and the greater pleasure along with my husband to know, dine with and travel with the man whom I danced to the tune of "When the Saints Go Marching In". This in of itself is a testament to the transformation of a soul not one but two. My fear of intimidation gone in addition to his intimidating nature. He will certainly be in that Number! He experienced the best and the worst life has to offer - He will return Home with a cup full of life. The Thoroughbred industry would NOT be what it is today world-wide without his vision. So another chapter ends. Sandy, you are right where you are supposed to be - The Lord showed you to me before he showed Dick so don't ever question who you are.

I want to thank the Lord for the one encounter that I had with Mr. Broadbent, that was when he unexpectantly handed me a check for the building of an orphanage in Burma. I worked closely with Mr. Broadbent from February 1972 until he sold his computer companies to Churchill Downs in June 2007. I continued to serve as a trustee of Christian Word Ministries along with him, his wife Sandy and his daughter Martie until his death. Over the years I became very close to Mr. B. and his family and both my husband and I will greatly miss him and the daily prayers that he offered up for us. Charles and I both extend our deepest sympathies to the entire family and we will be keeping each and everyone of them in our prayers. May God bless and watch over each of them during this time of sorrow. It is now time to say goodbye to our friend but we know we will see him again when we join him in Heaven and we can find comfort in knowing that he is with his Heavenly Father.

Dick Broadbent was not only my boss but a personal friend. His life really soared with God. I had the priviledge of seeing many lifes touched and changed for the better. The Dick Broadbent I knew did not cuss, smoke nor drink but put his Lord and Savior Jesus first, then family, then friends and even people who worked for him. Dick was outstandingly generous and showed much love and compassion, much concern for all people as he went through his daily life. I am proud to have known such a man of God. He did good marrying a godly lady like "Sandy".He made us all proud to be on a winning team and to bless others in need. We know that we know he is in Heaven today with the Lord. His good works follow him and will continue to go forth bringing much good fruit.

Dear Sandy and family of Brother Broadbent: As we read the words in this article, it's obvious that Brother B. accomplished many amazing things in the "horse" industry. The visionary we know however, does not concern horses, it concerns the precious people of the Amazon River Basin who have never heard about Jesus. The Brother B. that we know provided for 12 beautiful church buildings for his brothers and sisters in Christ who without his generosity and support, would never have had a place to worship. We reminded him as recently as Christmas that he'd never know until he got to heaven just how many lives he'd touched by his generous giving.......now he knows. We're so thankful for everything he did to bless the Kingdom of God. Blessings to the family. Your friends at Coat of Many Colors Ministries--Ronnie and Sandy Yother
