Midway , Kentucky - Thomas Hackney Sayre,72, husband of Mary May Sayre, passed away Monday, March 20,2023 at his residence, Midway, Kentucky. He was born November 4,1950 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Frank and Margaret Hackney Sayre. Tom was University of Kentucky Agricultural graduate, a member of Midway Christian Church, a business owner of The Sayre Agency. Tom was a lover of baseball, golf, fishing, but his first love was horse racing, he visited race tracks from New York, to California and Ireland. Tom was a true Kentuckian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Michael Sayre.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Mary May Sayre, Midway, Kentucky, brother, Frazier Todd Sayre, Statesboro, Georgia, Anne Sayre Patterson, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and many friends.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 26,2023 at the Midway Christian Church, with Rev. Dr. Heather McColl officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 40, c/o MMC, PO Box 4548, Midway, Kentucky 40347, or Old Friends, 1841 Paynes Depot, Georgetown, Kentucky 40324, or Midway Christian Church 128 E. Bruen Street, Midway, Kentucky 40347. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and leave messages of condolence on Tom's tribute wall at www.BlackburnandWard.com.
