Raymond Jorgenson Obituary
Junior Raymond Jorgenson, 91, of Hayfield, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Junior was born and raised on the family farm outside of Rock Dell, MN on May 20, 1934, to Alvin and Cora (Stevens) Jorgenson. Growing up he worked the farm and attended Hayfield schools. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna, on January 16, 1952. They were married for 70 years before her passing. They were blessed with 5 sons and 1 daughter including 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Junior started work at Hormel in 1952, and worked there for 31 years, retiring in 1983, at the age of 49. He then opened up a tree service business for a year. Then in 1984, he opened up Jorgenson's Service Station in Hayfield, MN. In 1991, he sold the business to his two sons, Bruce and Scott, but would still help them out because the man could not sit still. He instilled good work ethics in all of his children. Junior loved fishing, boating, camping, dancing, tinkering with small engines and sitting around visiting with family and friends. Most of all, he loved heading south to Apache Junction, AZ with Donna for the winter months. They enjoyed getting together with the friends they made there, warm weather, and having their group happy hours. They were able to do this for 27 years. Junior is survived by his children, Ken (Marnie) Jorgenson, Wayne (Linda) Jorgenson, Bruce (Donna) Jorgenson, Kevin (Sue) Jorgenson, Caroline Larson, and Scott (Lisa) Jorgenson; grandchildren, Steven, John, Angie, Jeremy, Melissa, Josh, Chelsey, Jake, Nicole, Ashley, Aryanna, Cora, and Caden; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Carter, Miranda, Dylan, Jaden, Cooper, Kaelyn, Noah, Landon, Elliott, Emmett, Elliana, Everly, Carsen, Callie, Thatcher, Braydon, and Amari; siblings, Elmer Jorgenson, Norman (Sharon) Jorgenson, and Carol Briggs; and his special dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jorgenson; parents, Alvin and Cora Jorgenson; sisters, Melvina Fjerstad and Lucille Fjerstad; brothers, Arnold and Palmer Jorgenson. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Fieldcrest Care Center and all of the staff that took care of our father while he was a resident there and Mayo Clinic Hospice for their care during his last days.
