Claude Sasnett Obituary

DOVER - It's an honor to announce that on September 18, 2013, Claude "Buck" Sasnett was escorted into the presence of the Lord. Buck was born in Washington, NC on October 18, 1923. He founded Sasnett Logging Company in the 1950's and had a passion for animals and nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Buck served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on board the Charles F. Hughes Destroyer. He was awarded medals for serving in the Asiatic Pacific, American, and European African Middle Eastern Campaigns. He loved the Lord and seldom met a soul without testifying about his Savior, Jesus Christ. Preceding Buck in death were his parents, Claude and Annie H. Sasnett and brother, Pender Ray Sasnett. Survivors include his wife, Lorna P. Sasnett of the home; son, Steve Sasnett of Goldsboro and Jane Sasnett of Dover; daughters, Sandra S. Craft (Johnny) of Grifton, Judy S. Pawluch (Michael) of Ayden, Cheryl S. Fields (Mitch) of Kinston, and Becky S. Holleman (Andy) of Kinston; twelve grandchildren, Ondrea Joyner, Jason Craft, Dannie Jones II, Candi Jones, Jamey McCullen, Stevie Sasnett II, Jared Sasnett, Holly F. Nobles, Blake Fields, Sky Fields, Blair H. Wilson, and Josh Holleman; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Devin Moore, Evan Joyner, Noah, Summer, Savannah, Matthew , and Luke Jones, Makenzie, Madison, Makayla, Jordan, Jade, and Jersey Sasnett, Lakin, Gunner, Journey, Gatlin, and Crockett Nobles, Trajen Fields, Garret Wilson, and Hayden Holleman; along with many other family members and special friends. Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to Continuum Home Care and Hospice. A celebration of Buck's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at New Testament Baptist Church with the Reverend Tim Daniel officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Testament Baptist Church Building Fund, 126 Neuse Road, Kinston, NC 28501. There wasnt a time that I ever talked to Mr Sasnett that I didnt hear about his Lord and Savior and how when his time came he was ready to meet his God and now hes wrapped in his arms and is free from all this world and its happenings..I know he will see his family again in heaven one day and they all can rejoice with him...A special prayer goes out to all his family in this time of need I pray it will be a blessing to you all knowing he is truly at peace now..A special hug to Mrs Sasnett her and Mr Buck were a blessing to me when I attended church with them ...God Bless you all...
