John Watson Obituary

John (Jack) William Watson

Bremerton, WA

May 5, 1946 to Oct. 30, 2018

It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of John (Jack) William Watson 72 on the morning of 10/30/18 peacefully surrounded by love.

Jack was born 5/5/46, the second half of twin set with his surviving brother Jim Watson in Kitsap County to his parents John and Anne Watson. Jack was a long time resident of Kitsap County, a retiree of PSNS shop 38, a local Hall of Fame Fastpitch player and great supporter of his children and grandchildren's sports. Jack was a full of life guy who had a big heart and big jokes. He was a lover of storytelling from his days of youth and could recall in detail the glory days until his last moments. He is lovingly survived by his daughter Stephanie Watson, his son Derek Watson and their spouses Deanna Sweet and Robin Watson. Also, his daughter Dominique Watson.

One of Jack's happiest roles was that of "Papa Jack" to his six grandchildren, where his pride shined brightly for Jennifer Sweet, Nick Sweet, Landyn Watson, Dalton Watson, Donovan Small and Tania Sturdivant.

A celebration of life will be held November 17, 2018 at 4 pm. Please join his family and friends in sharing your stories and memories of Jack at McCloud's Grill House located at 2901 Perry Avenue Bremerton, WA 98310

Jack was one of the best fast pitch softball players I had the privilege of playing with, as a teammate, and against, as a competitor. The distance of his home runs are legendary. After our playing days lapsed, we remained friends. Jack always made me laugh. I will miss him.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jacks passing...We grew up in Navy Yard City...My four brothers and my self with Bill,Patty and Mary Wood...Jim and Jack would come to the house or we all would go behind the school and play ball games and chase each other and just have fun...Those times will never be forgotten because of how much fun we had together...Later on in life Jack played Fastpitch with my husband Don and my brother in law Punk....Those were great times...Win or lose we all stayed friends...My prayers are with your family and may you Rest In Peace,Jack...God bless you all...With love,Linda M. MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO JACK's FAMILY ESPECIALLY TO JIMMY:
HE WAS SOMEONE THAT I MET DURING MY VERY FIRST BASKETBALL PRACTICE AT THE SINCLAIR HEIGHTS ARMORY IN 1954. AND WHEN COACHES HAD US SCRIMMAGE THAT DAY, A CARROT TOPPED LITTLE KID YELLED, "AND NO DOUBLE DRIBBLING!"
I HAD NO IDEA W H A T HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.
WE STAYED IN CONTACT BY TELEPHONE AT LEAST ONCE EVERY YEAR OR SEEING EACH OTHER AT A GAME. HE WAS A BROTHER. HE KNEW ME BETTER THAN MOST AND IN HIS CLEAR JACK WATSON STYLE WOULD TELL ME ABOUT MYSELF. AND I HAD NO IDEA W H A T HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.
MY LOVE OF JACK WATSON, OF THE WATSON BOYS, GOES WAY, WAY BACK..

Grew up together on Shorewood Drive. a heart of gold, but wouldn't want you to know. Lot of people will miss the Redbird. I play cards with friends- we call our jacks "Watsons" because he is our favorite Jack, and it reminds us of unforgettable Jackisms. Can't think of Jack without a smile.

Condolences to all of Jack's family. I am so, so sorry to hear this. I first met Jack in the shipyard where I worked with him for a few years and took over his crew when he retired. He was my golf partner in the Rolling Hills mens club for awhile. He even took the time to teach me how to fish ( correctly ).
A very special person to all who met him, Gonna leave big a big hole in the world now that he has passed.
