B. TIPTON Obituary

TIPTON, B. J. "TIP" - 88, of Seymour, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012. He retired from Mack Truck in 1990. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and served as Past Master of the Sevier Lodge #334, and also, a member for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Tipton; son, Roger Dean; parents, Glenn and Carrie Gossett Tipton and brothers, Jack and Ernest Tipton. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law: Betty Twitty and husband Phil, Anita Martin and husband Herb; grandchildren: Ashlee and Jarrett Martin; sister: Wanda McCrosky and husband Johnny; brother: Ray Tipton and wife Ruth; step grandchildren and families. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Grace Baptist Church General Fund, 113 Smothers Road, Seymour, TN 37865 or Sevier Masonic Lodge #334, 12710 Chapoman Hwy, Seymour, TN 37865. Funeral service 7:00 PM Wednesday in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Rev. C.M. Kelly officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Thursday in Chilhowee Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN (865-577-2807) (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com

Extending sympthy to "Tips" family. I knew him when he drove a bus and roomed at our home in Gatlinburg in the 1940's. He was a very special man to our family.
